Hollywood really loves transgender characters and the stories of their lives, but one problem has been more than obvious—Hollywood historically chose cisgender actors for transgender roles instead of transgender actors themselves.

This practice has been harmful because trans actors have fewer chances to get jobs. Even more, cisgender actors often represent transgender people from an inaccurate perspective. Who can better know how exactly a trans person feels, thinks, and behaves than a transgender person themselves?

This is not a fun game, but hard work—because our society can be strict and conservative, with many people still full of stereotypes that lead to transphobic reactions.
